The 29-year-old from Cologne prevailed on Friday after 172.8 kilometers of Chocholov to Bielsko-Biala in the Photofinish in front of Slovenes Matej Mohoric and the Italian Stefano Oldani. For Arndt it was the first success since his Vuelta stage victory 2019.
In the overall standings, the Portuguese Joao Almeida brings just two seconds ahead of the double tour stay winer Mohoric and 14 seconds in front of the Italian Diego Ulissi. German professionals do not matter in the front placements.
The sixth stage of the seven-day WorldTour tour is on Saturday a 19.1 kilometer single time trial in Katowice. Finally, the race goes on Sunday in Krakow.
