The Veterans of Blizzard Mike Morhaime, Jason Chayes, Ben Thompson, Dustin Browder, Chris Sigaty, Alan Dabiri and Eric Dodds gathered to create games via two development studios, Moonshot Games and Secret Door. These studios will develop games for a new company unveiled by Mike Morhaime known as Dreamhaven. The wife of Morhaime, Amy, is also responsible for operations at Dreamhaven, headquartered in Irvine, California (just like Blizzard). Blizzard Entertainment will come out World of Warcraft: Shadowlands for PC and MAC on October 26th.
This Blizzard veterans dream team is divided between two development studios under the same Dreamhaven umbrella, which allows us to see more revolutionary titles like those Mike Morhaime was behind at Blizzard. Dreamhaven says it aims to "reinvent the studio model", "taking the risk that most major publishers will not do it," suggesting that Mike Morhaime wants to continue raising the bar for games. Moonshot, Secret Door and Dreamhaven have not confirmed what they are preparing in the studio, but we expect quality games, whatever they are.
The heart of Dreamhaven is focused on the empowerment of creators, encouraging members of both teams to present their ideas, each developer holding equity in the company. Given all the big names of Blizzard signed at Dreamhaven and the brilliant spirit of Mike Morhaime and his wife, Dreamhaven fixed great expectations despite being a whole new company, and Moonshot Games and Secret Door are both new studios. Apparently, the company has been made possible thanks to the positive feelings that all the old developers of Blizzard shared with each other.
