Eldest Souls wants to score with chic 16-bit optics and a lot of challenging boss fights.
If a game is called Eldest Soul, then it can actually only be a Souls-Like, right? Well, that's not really right. What happens at first glance in fact like a "Dark Souls" cut with 2D pixel graphics and top-down perspective, turns out to the second as a different kind of challenging action roleplay, but at least can not be denied , here and there be inspired by the from-software works.
What is Eldest Souls?
The story of Eldest Souls has in any case a "Dark Souls" character. For centuries, humanity lived in bondage of the old gods, but at some point she was fed up, rebelled and locked her masters into a holy citadel. Of course, the gods do not even look great and now want to take revenge by bringing chaos and destruction over the world. Only a lonely warrior with a great sword made of valuable obsidian can stop them. Little surprising that this is a man here.
As so often, the fate of the world is in the hands of a single hero.
ELDEST SOULS is an action RPG in retro look as mentioned earlier. It explores a 16-bit world and pursues the events from the bird's eye view. In your way you meet a number of NPCs with interesting backgrounds that provide you with quests. In addition, the world offers all sorts of secrets and bosses.
Clear that you have to fight against the gods and who are anything but cannon or in this case sword food. Away from this powerful colossi, however, do not encounter enemies in Eldest Souls. Yes, very right: this is a boss-rush game, in which you basically only from an end opponent to the next run. Thanks to the size of the citadel and her labyrinth-like construction, however, you always have enough short breaks between the fighting.

Who is Eldes Souls?
Boss-Rush games are not everyone's thing, just like not everyone is a fan of difficult boss fighting. If you belong to the people who play Dark Souls mainly because of the exploration factor and less because of the crisp endpers, Eldest Souls maybe nothing for you. However, if you've already had fun with Titan Souls of Acid Nerve (which has just released the fantastic Death's Door), the probably most famous boss-rush game of the past years, fun and would like to play something in style again, Eldest Souls should make exactly your taste. General is: Anyone who makes a wide range of games with a high degree of difficulty, should also stop this indie title.
At least in terms of boss design, it is already purely on the pictures that the developers really have to get there.
