Icarus

It is now a few years ago that Dean "Rocket" Hall Dayz has developed (first the mod for Arma 2, then the standalone version). And it's not just done yesterday that the New Zealander has left the Czech Studio Bohemia Interactive to return to his homeland and found a new company named Rocketwerkz. Now the first game of the young team is just before the release: Icarus is like Dayz a survival game, but it works quite differently and has nothing to do with zombies.

ICARUS also offers an Open World, which does not fall small with 64 square kilometers, but it is not persistent. Instead, the title sets individual, time-limiting sessions. She explores the eponymous planet, which humanity once choosed to the second soil. However, the terraforming went wrong and produced a poisonous atmosphere. Later, however, it found out that there is exotic matter on Icarus and you should get it. For this you always have limited time available. Yes, you can explore the world freely and build a basis, but is always under time pressure. Your goal is to degrade the desired resources as soon as possible and then not to miss the departure of the landscape. Otherwise, your character and all your progress are lost. However, if you create it back to the orbital station, you can unlock new aids that will be of great use of subsequent missions. Incidentally, PVP does not exist in Icarus.

Road 96

Story-German Adventures, where the gameplay plays a subordinate role have been very popular for years. With Road 96, another representative of this kind will be released this month, but that makes a thing crucial differently than anyone else: History does not run on permanently predefined lanes, but is generated procedural, so every pass is really unique.

Road 96 is also playing in the summer of 1996. You are on the run from a horrible regime and just tries to survive. It encounters a colorful pile of characters. Depending on which roads you take, you meet other people and experiences other single stories. And of course, the game presents you again and again from decisions that influence the further course of the journey. The developer who previously made the World War Drama 11-11 Memories Retold has been inspired by the films Quentin Tarantinos, the Coen Brothers and Bong Joon-Hos ("Parasite").

Humankind

After multiple shifts, this month will finally be humankind and make Civilization properly competition. The new round-based global strategy game of Amplitude Studios, the creators of Endless Space and Endless Legend, looks at first glance almost exactly as the title from the house of Firaxy. And not only visually there are similarities. Humankind also deals with human history. You start in the nomadient age and distracts the skill of your people to the present.

The most important difference to the great role model is that you do not even choose a civilization at the beginning and keep your loyalty to the end. Instead, you always change the culture and mixes different peoples. For example, you start with the Babylonians and later switches to the Romans. You can maintain individual unity types and technologies of your first culture, but sooner or later you will not use you so much if all your opponents have much more modern soldiers and techniques in stock.

Twelve Minutes

For many years, Luis Antonio, who used to work with Rockstar Games and Ubisoft, worked on his interactive thriller Twelve Minute. He has a tremendous concept: he tells the story of a couple who wants to spend a romantic evening in their own four walls. But during the dinner, a policeman penetrates into the apartment that accuses the wife of the murder. It comes to managers and her who plays the man will be totrupted.

Suddenly the time turns back and the situation begins again. The name Twelve Minutes is program here. You are trapped in a time loop and must find a solution for the couple going over the evening of salvation. The camera floats above the events. You look quasi through the blanket in the small apartment and everything only plays in these rooms. And although the whole thing is a small one-man-indie project, you get very prominent voices: James McAvoy ("X-Men"), Daisy Ridley ("Star Wars") and Willem Dafoe ("Platoon") The three characters.

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut

This appears for both the PS4 and PS5. The Open World Game of Sucker Punch finally comes in a native PS5 version with 4K support. So the pretty title is even more beautiful. There are new content.

The Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is a large DLC with a new island. Iki expect fresh story and co-missions, open-world activities and more animals to stroke. So you can not only crawle foxes, but also cats, monkeys and deer. On top of that there are new techniques for Jin to learn. Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Do you still remember Aliens: Colonial Marines? It is said that fans of the films still have regular nightmares of this horrible Machwerk. In August we are with Aliens: Fireteam Elite a new shooter based on the second part of the film series into the house, which hopefully is significantly better, but also a very different kind of game - no single player adventure, but a co-opa-survival action game. In the third-person perspective, you are traveling as a team of Marines on the UAS Endavor. In four campaigns, you take the fight against the Xenomorphs.

Although the action plays 23 years after the events of the original "alien" trilogy, but that fireteam elite is strongly inspired by James Cameron's "Aliens", you can see on every picture and in every video to the game. The developers also treat each other a few freedoms. So there are over 20 different enemy types, including eleven different xenomorph species. They all fight with very own tactics, where you would have to adjust if you want to survive. You have the choice of five soldiers classes (contactors, breakdown experts, technicians, doctor and reconnaissance) and can customize them thanks to great weapons. King's Bounty 2

King's Bounty is already a pretty old series. Part 1 already appears in 1990 and has been the forerunner of the "Heroes of Might & Magic" series. In 2008, a new edition called King's Bounty appeared: The Legend, which has also received a successor, but the official second part comes only this year, more precisely in a few weeks on the market. King's Bounty 2 shines a new path. While the predecessors are characterized by round-based battles, as they are also known from Heroes of Might & Magic, but the role-playing part is significantly larger.

Granted, King's Bounty was already a RPG strategy mix before. Now, however, the strategy share is no longer so much to recognize as it explores the world from the third-person perspective. She is not open world, but you have a certain clearance. In cities you talk to all sorts of NPCs and take quests. In the main story, you also meet some decisions that have a search for the further credentials. But there are still no worse, strategy elements still there is still enough. Of course, you also build an army in King's Bounty 2 and the fights are characterized by great tactical depth. Thanks to the new kind of exploring the Oberwelt, the whole thing is much more immersive.

Psychonauts 2

How long have we been waiting for it? The first psychonaut has meanwhile 16 years on the hump. What unfortunately did not have been more than a critical lake, this August finally gets a continuation. It seems to be faithful to its predecessor in many aspects. Double Fine dares no experiments here, but simply serves another 3D jump-and-run with wrought levels design ideas.

She slips back into the role of psychonauts Raz. This must make this time that his boss comes back. After kidnappers were kidnapped, the psychonauts were able to free him, but he is no longer the same. And there is another problem: a spy in the headquarters. Clear thing that needs to be unnecessary. And who could better than Raz? Her dives back into the thought worlds of various characters, runs and jumps, what the stuff holds, fights against all sorts of opponents and solves many puzzles. Great innovations away from skills that are not available in the first part, Psychonauts 2 does not seem to offer. But that's not bad, even if we just get more of what Tim Schafer and his team delivered to us and a half and a half decades - of course in a significantly more modern robe.

NO MORE HEROES 3

Still a continuation, which has long been waiting. No More Heroes 3 promises exactly what fans of the series wish: Humor, transcribed characters and lots of sword fighting. Travis Touchdown, who has already claused twice the best order killer in the world, gets it this time with an invasion of all to do. The main manager is the supercourse Jess Baptiste VI, called Prince Fu. He has set up the "galactic superherian ranking" and now Travis puts everything on the first place ... and save the world.

On the way to the top we expect all sorts of wicked boss opponents in No More Heroes. So you may compete against the ones, but you have to be neatly monstrous petties every time. You deserve you in the open game world by holding all kinds of jobs. Time forbidate a few gangsters, sometimes you mow a lawn. Thanks to your Demzamtiger motorcycle, you quickly get from A to B. In addition, you can buy all sorts of clothes in shops. Furthermore, there is a new weapon with Death Glove, with which you can fire explosive projectiles or slow down the attacks of your enemies. The glove can be improved in the gameplay and allows you many new options in the fighting. In addition, you have the choice of whether your No More Heroes 3 will play normal by key or but with motion control.

NEW WORLD

The first attempt from Amazon to grasp in the Core Gamer market foot, named Crucible is merciless failed. At the end of August, New World should do better. And the signs are actually quite good. The MMORPG has caused plenty of skepticism with all its shifts and concept changes, but the closed beta has shown: the thing can, even if we do not like everything.

New World Mix the historic 17th century with fantasy. In the Atlantic an island was discovered on which there is a raw material that makes people immortal. Just stupid that you can turn them when it runs badly, into zombies. Nevertheless, everyone wants to have this resource and therefore control control of the Eiland called Aeternum. So it comes to the conflict between three factions, one of which one belongs to one. PVP and thus the battles around individual areas play a crucial role in New World, but there are also enough activities for PVE fans. In addition, the title is characterized by a comprehensive and elemental important crafting system, a classless skill system and action struggles without Tab targeting.
