On Thursday, the fourth stage was located over 160.5 km from Tarnow to Bukovina Resort for the drivers - and for the first time, a mountain arrival stood this year. At just under a height of 1000 meters, it went up to the finish. First, a four-member outlier group was allowed to try. The Hungarian Attila Valter (Groupamama-FDJ), the Belgian Edward Theuns (Trek-Segafredo), the Italian Marco Canola (Gazprom-Rusvelo) as well as the American Larry Warbasse (AG2R-Citroen) made themselves together.
The quartet worked well together, but already on the penultimate climb to Lapszanska, it was clear that none of the outliers would be in question. And so it came then. On the final increase, the field of the favorites picked up the leading gradually and it came to a broadcast.
The Portuguese Almeida (Deceuninck-Quick Step) prevailed from the Slovenian Master Matej Mohoric (Bahrain Victorious) and the Italian Andrea Vendrame (Ag2r Citroen Team). Almeidas lead to the new total-time-wide Mohoric is now eight seconds, third parties in the overall classification is the Italian Diego Ulissi (UAE Emirates). Best German was Georg Zimmermann (Intermarche Wanty Gobert) with 36 seconds behind the rank 35. Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain Victorious), who had won the first stage on Monday, came down with a residue of 12:03 minutes as 97th.
The fifth of a total of seven sections leads the riders on Friday over just under 173 hilly kilometers from Chocholov to Bielsko-Biala. On Sunday, the 78th Poland Tour ends with the target arrival in Krakow.
