Polit won after 193.9 km from Ilmenau to Erlangen thanks to a shiny set attack 7.4 km before the destination. Behind Polit, Germany-Tour-second of 2018, followed by the Belgian Dylan Tuns (Bahrain Victorious) and Sprint-Oldie Andre Greipel (Cologne / Israel Start-up Nation).
I've managed to shake down Dylan on the last two kilometers. I'm super happy that I was able to win my second Germany tour stage here, said Polit, whose attack remembered his tour stage victory in Nimes, in Nimes ZDF.
Through his total third professee, the 27-year-old took over the red jersey of the overall leader from his teammate Pascal Ackermann, who had won the open bar stage on Thursday. It was a horny stage and I'm glad that Nils won, said Ackermann, who has a residue for eight seconds on Polit.
Sophisticated leg to Nuremberg on the final day
Finally, on Sunday, the fourth and last portion leads the Peloton over 156.3 sophisticated kilometers from Erlangen to Nuremberg. Between km 39 and 106, the drivers must cope six short but sometimes tricky climbs. Thereafter, the sprinters still have time to catch up with possible outlier groups. This year's Germany Tour ends after 722 km, after the race has made station in four federal states.
The big mountains are missing this year in the course. For the overall victory therefore, therefore, sprint-staring drivers such as Ackermann or driver with classic talent like tour stage winners Nils Polit fight. In 2019, at the last issue so far, the Belgian Jasper Stuyven won, in March winner of Milan-Sanremo. Stuyven leaves the Germany tour this year but also as the Slovenian winner of 2018, Matej Mohoric. At Germany Tour 2021 there will be a premiere victory.
